How this work is named
The four names already used on drawings, in research, and on tenders.
Streetscape. Public realm. Heritage windows. Window retrofit. The openings stay different sizes.
- The object. A street front, the edge of a square, a historic wall, or a building already standing.
- The method. Survey the opening. Keep that size. One window is not repeated up the street.
- The name. These four are how the work is searched, specified and tendered.
Streetscape
Streetscape and shopfronts. Active frontage, each bay the width already in the wall.
Public realm
Public realm. The frontage around a square, each bay drawn to the opening that is there.
Heritage windows
Historic district. Conservation glazing: the opening stays, and the sizes stay mixed.
Window retrofit
