Back to extra rooms

Close the door. The house stays behind you.

Twenty metres down the path, a room that works in January. Glass to the garden. Insulation in the shell. Not a shed, not the kitchen table. The plant finishes and glazes it. The pad and the install stay local.

  • A door you close. Work leaves the kitchen table. That is the commute people pay for.
  • A wall of glass. The garden is the fourth wall — not a corridor, not a spare bedroom.
  • Year-round. The plant insulates the shell and fits the glass. Services and the pad stay with the local partner.

These pictures are a direction, not a finished Aurinex garden room. The plant finishes the shell. Installation stays local.

Garden office

The desk has to look like a day you would keep.

Not an empty cabin in a pretty garden. A room in use: screens on, doors open, a lamp at dusk.

Garden office interior with dual monitors, drawing board and garden beyond the glass

Garden office

Screens on. The house is outside.

This is the order. A desk that is a room, not a corner of the kitchen.

Garden room with sliding glass open to a timber deck, sofa inside facing the garden
Doors open. The garden is the other half of the room.

A room you would walk to

Metal that holds. The garden can change. The room is what you keep.

Garden office with a desk and screen, glass doors open, beside a brick family house
A desk and a screen. A door you can close.

Air from the corner. Light from the roof.

Most garden rooms open on one side and stay hot. These fold open, with a skylight. A desk, or a place to sit. Metal shell. The garden is not one lawn repeated.

Light from the roof. The piano faces the lawn.
Desk under a skylight, doors open onto a brick-walled garden with roses and a house beyond
A brick wall, roses, the house beyond. A desk, and air.
Sofa and chair under a skylight, doors open to gravel, an olive tree and a white wall
Gravel, an olive, a white wall. A place to sit.

Young people at the table, talking it through. Draw the aluminium across when it rains.
